First homebuyers will get exclusive access to 34 blocks of land which go on sale today in the nation’s only neighbourhood exclusively for first homebuyers in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.

The 400-home first homebuyer precinct is a joint initiative between the Federal and State Governments, providing a clear pathway for first homebuyers to gain a foothold in the market in a high-demand, high-quality neighbourhood located within Renewal SA’s Playford Alive development.

Allotments in this release range in size from 270 square metres up to 445 square metres, with prices from $250,000 to $380,000.

Since being announced in May, hundreds of South Australian potential first homebuyers have registered their interest in owning a home in the precinct.

A $50 million investment announced in the 2026-27 State Budget for enabling infrastructure will accelerate delivery of the project, supporting a target of 400 homes sold by the end of 2027.

Buyers securing land in this precinct will pay no stamp duty at all, with the State Government having scrapped the tax entirely for first homebuyers purchasing new builds.

On top of the stamp duty savings, qualifying first homebuyers can also tap into $15,000 grants alongside low-deposit lending options, further easing the path into home ownership.

The first homebuyer’s precinct forms part of a landmark agreement struck between the State and Federal Governments, worth $801.5 million, to deliver 6,877 first homebuyer homes in South Australia as part of the national 100,000 Homes for First Home Buyers program.

Civil works are already progressing on site, made possible by a $50 million concessional loan from the Federal Government.

Renewal SA’s Playford Alive development is one of the largest urban renewal projects in Australia and already sees about 80 per cent of its land sales made from people entering the market.

To be eligible to buy within the precinct, buyers must be at least 18 years of age, an Australian citizen or permanent resident and be a first homebuyer who intends to be an owner-occupier.
