We are committed to ensuring our website is accessible and usable by as many people as possible, regardless of technology or ability.
Our approach
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard, which is widely recognised as the benchmark for digital accessibility.
This means we:
- Use clear, simple language where possible
- Ensure content is structured logically, with headings, labels and image descriptions that support screen readers
- Provide sufficient colour contrast between text and background
- Ensure the site is usable with a keyboard and without a mouse
- Design forms with accessible labels, instructions, and error message
- Test the site with assistive technologies such as screen readers.
Known limitations
While we strive for full compliance, we recognise there may still be some accessibility issues.
For example:
- Third-party content and plug-ins may not fully meet accessibility standards
- PDF documents may not always be tagged for accessibility.
