Largest ever land release
The State Government is boosting residential land supply, paving the way for the creation of 50,000 new homes statewide - an increase of 10,000 above previous expectations - as part of the A Better Housing Future plan and the current pipeline of residential rezonings (code amendments).
Proposed land releases include:
- 2,000 homes at Onkaparinga Heights - rezoned
- 12,000 homes, previously 10,000, at Concordia – rezoned
- 1,700 homes at Sellicks Beach – under rezoning process
- Up to 15,000 homes, previously 10,000, at Dry Creek - government-led rezoning process has commenced
There are many more potential housing allotments in the pipeline of residential code amendments in the initiation consultation or finalisation phase.
This unprecedented land release is expected to open the door for more than 90,000 South Australians.
Increasing residential land supply in the right places, at the right time, will support the property market and create more diverse and affordable housing to meet the needs of our growing population.
